Magnificent Liverpool Tours
The focus of our walking tours of Liverpool is the sheer magnificence of much of its 19th and early 20th century architecture. Streets and buildings are created by and for people, however, and in his tours Trevor Newton attempts to connect Liverpool's extraordinary architectural heritage with the everyday lives and individual histories of its famously witty and welcoming inhabitants.
Architectural and topographical artist Trevor Newton was born and bred in Liverpool, has strong family ties there, and has recently moved back to the city after ten years living in London.
He studied History of Art and Architecture at Cambridge University and was the first full-time teacher of the subject at Eton College.
Liverpool, with its magnificent architectural heritage and vibrant social and cultural life, has always inspired and enthused him. In this website and in the Magnificent Liverpool Walking Tours which it introduces, he hopes to share some of that enthusiasm with a wider audience.
