Tour 4 - St George's Plateau: The Liverpudlian Forum
Liverpool's St George's Hall is one of the greatest classical revival buildings in the world and is beautifully balanced by the grand porticoes of the world-class libraries and museums which face it across the cobbles of William Brown Street. There is a forum-like atmosphere here, enhanced by the elegant 1860's Wellington Column which rises above the surrounding buildings. There is more than a touch of London's Trafalgar Square about the whole ensemble.
